The Use of Faith

October 12, 2010 Prep Year

Introduction:

When we were without Christ, much of what we were doing maybe had some well-defined objective, but as we got this, either smooth or discouragement at some point, we gave up and sometimes having spent much time in our lives and to leave it without material resources to achieve. In other cases trying to be objective, some of us clung to phrases like "what you see is believed" , and never achieved great things because their ability to see beyond what their natural eyes see was cut.

Since that is the case, being in the Lord, we need to walk differently because the Bible says:

2 Corinthians 5:7
we walk by faith not by sight;

This means that we no longer walk through what our natural eyes see, but with God's help, we must learn to walk seeing what naturally can't be seen, thus to reach the best and greatest blessings, because that is how God does:

Hebrews 11:13
by faith we understand that the universe was made by the word of God so what can be seen was made of what cannot be seen.

Note how God works, he does what you see, from what you cannot see but IT DOES EXIST!

This must be our path, so 2 Corinthians 5:7 tell us that we must walk by faith not by sight.

Let's look at an example of walking by faith:

Isaiah 54:17this is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness comes from me saith the LORD.

Walking by faith by example is to serve God and inherit the estate, what is the legacy?

Isaiah 54:13
All your children shall be taught to the LORD and great shall be the welfare of your children.

Another Version says: Justice will make you strong, be free from oppression and fear, and terror will not fret you.

Isaiah 54:15 if someone attacks you, it won't be because of me, but you rule to attack you.

Isaiah 54:17 but no one has made the weapon that can destroy you. You'll let anyone who accuses you in silent. This is what I give to those who serve me: Victory. Saith the Lord.

So walking by faith is to MAKE TIME TO SERVE GOD, knowing that as we pay, we will get all of these promises.

Walking by sight would be, I spent all my time in my JOB AND BE AT HOME ALL THE TIME WITH MY CHILDREN, AND THAT'S WHY I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO SERVE, it would be walk without faith.

So why use faith?

FAITH IS TO LIVE.

Habakkuk 2:4 Behold the proud in him, his soul is not upright, but the just shall live by faith.

This means that anyone who hears the word believes in God and a doer, because he believed and thus acted. Example:

Hebrews 11:7 by faith Noah, when God warned those things would happen that were not yet visible, obeyed, and built the boat to saved his family, and by that same faith Noah condemned the world's people and attained salvation that is obtained by faith.

FAITH IS FOR PLANTING, HAVESTING AND STORING

Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say, do not worry about your life, what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink, nor about your body, what you wear. Is not life more than food and body more than clothing?

Matthew 6:26 behold the fowls of heaven, they neither sow or reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:28 and for clothes, why should you worry? Observe how the lilies grow, do not work, neither do they spin;

Matthew 6:30 And if God so clothe the grass of the field, today and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you. O ye of little faith?

So faith is used to grow(in the kingdom of God to plant life), it serves to harvest(ie what is needed then you understand why it came) and it is used to store, knowing that if what we have sown harvest has not come, his time will come the reward.

FAITH IS TO SEEK THE KINGDOM

Matthew 6:32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things and your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added.

FAITH SERVES TO MEET BLESSINGS, THROUGH COVERAGE

Matthew 8:8 the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy to receive You under my roof but only say the word and my servant will be healed.

Matthew 8:9 for I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me, and I say this: Go! And he goes, and to another, Come! And he comes, and to my servant, do this! And he does.

Matthew 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marveled and said to them that followed, verily I say that in Israel I have not found anyone with so great faith.

Matthew 8:13 Jesus said unto the centurion, Go, and have believed, let it be done. And his servant was healed and that very hour.

The centurion believed the order of the kingdom and the authority that Jesus stood for and why it was done, as was previously believed.

FAITH SERVES TO REBUKE UNCLEAN SPIRITS AND CLOGS FROM THE WAY.

Matthew: 8:24 And suddenly there arose a great storm at sea, so the waves covered the boat, but Jesus was asleep.

Matthew 8:25 and they came to him, woke him up, saying: Lord, save us, we perish!

Matthew 8:26 And he said to them: Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and a great calm came by.

FAITH IS FOR OTHERS TO WALK ON THE RIGHT TRACK

Matthew 9:2 and they brought him a paralytic lying on a stretcher, and Jesus saw their faith, said to the paralytic, "Cheer up, son, your sins are forgiven."

Matthew 9:5 For whether is easier, say: "Your sins are forgiven" , or say: "Arise, and walk?"

Matthew 9:6 But that ye may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins (then saith to the paralytic,) Arise, take your mat and go home.

Matthew 9:7 and he arose and went home.

FAITH IS TO BE HUMBLE AND GET HEALTH

Matthew: 9:20and behold, a woman who had been suffering from blood flow for twelve years approached him from behind and touched the hem of his garment;

Matthew 9:21 For she said to herself: if I only touch his garment, I will be healed

Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turning and seeing her, Said: Daughter, take heart! Your faith has healed you. And instantly the woman was healed.

FAITH IS TO SEE WHAT YOU HAVE AHEAD

Matthew 9:28 and after he entered the house, approached the blind men, Jesus saith to them: Do you think I can do this? They replied: Yes, Sir.

Matthew 9:29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, Let it be to you according to your faith.

Matthew 9:30 and their eyes were opened.

FAITH IS TO WALK ON THINGS THAT YOU THINK IS IMPOSSIBLE

Matthew 14:29-31 And He said, come. And Peter got out of the boat, walked on water, and went to Jesus. 30- But seeing the wind he was afraid and beginning to sink he cried, saying. Lord, save me! 31- And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, held it, and saith unto him, O man of little faith, why did you doubt?

FAITH SERVES TO INTERCESSION FOR THE CHILDREN

Matthew 15:22-23 and behold, a woman of Canaan came out of that region, began shouting, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me, my daughter is terribly possessed". But he did not answer a word. And his disciples came, they asked him, saying, Send her away, it keeps shouting after us.

Matthew 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said, O woman, great is your faith that will happen as you wish. And her daughter was healed from that moment.

FAITH SERVES TO GET ANOTHER CHANCE FOR THOSE WHO GOD PUNISHED ONCE.

Mark 11:21-22 Then Peter remembered and saith unto Him, Rabbi, Look, the fig tree which you cursed has withered 22- And Jesus answered, saying, Have faith in God.

FAITH WORKS TO STAND THE TEST

Lucas 22:31-32 Simon, Simon, Satan has demanded to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not, and you, once you're back, strengthen your brothers.
